Company profile

Crew Gold Corporation has its head office in Surrey in the UK but is registered in the Yukon Territory, Canada. It has an open-pit gold mining operation in Guinea, West Africa. Our mining project is known as “LEFA” – a name derived from its two material pits, Lero-Karta and Fayalala. We also have pending gold exploration projects in Guinea.

During 2009, Crew took the strategic decision to divest of its break-even mining projects in Greenland and the Philippines and its processing facility in Canada and to restructure its debt portfolio. The result is a focussed and potentially more profitable organisation with an excellent outlook for financial and production growth.

At-a-glance picture of the history of Crew over the most recent five years.

The potential of LEFA to be Crew’s big producer has been obvious to management for over three years, from drilling results and the discovery of new high-grade deposits near the main pits. Having shed the mining projects that looked promising but were ultimately not viable, our focus is Guinea gold – over quarter of a million ounces of it a year.
